those who have 10 posts and can't see it need to wait till the system promotes you (should be less than an hour).

Like I said, eventually the rules to get into ysi will become much stricter. Involving post count, rep, and date joined.

while i agree that rep should be positive, date joined is dumb. we had a lot of people who supported the ysi section that were new on the last iteration. it would be a disservice to the board to not allow new people in, as long as they contribute. rep restriction would also allow for spammers to be locked out too

i dunno... i keep a pretty low profile here most of the time. i have a feeling i might have got screwed if we did that, even though i've been involved with this message board group since the thrice boards in '05. if not me, i would bet someone else. not a bad idea though.

yeah same. i can live without the YSI section for a while. as for the qualifications for it, i think 100 posts (after a month or so anyway), and rep of +10 or more. keep date added out of it since we could have some really good contributors that are also n00bs.

oh i know why. The promotion system runs automatically about every hour. so if you JUST hit 10 (which you did a few minutes ago), you have to wait for the system to promote you.
