Appreciate one of the most unappreciated comics out there.
He was one of my favorite dudes when he was on SNL when I was just getting into it. He was fired from SNL because the head of NBC on the west coast didn’t think he was funny at all.

Norm on Conan over a decade ago (a classic)…
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GoLm-vD89SQ&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GoLm-vD89SQ&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Norm on Dennis Miller Live…
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/EINVIPThEa0&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/EINVIPThEa0&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
He almost makes Dennis Miller fall out of his chair.

Jim Breuer and Artie Lange telling stories about Norm on Howard Stern…

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Q2VhQ8r5Nc&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/9Q2VhQ8r5Nc&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Jim Breuer’s story is great.

Norm on the Larry Sanders Show…
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/0IgD32TVWaQ&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/0IgD32TVWaQ&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Norm on Dennis Miller pt. II
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/U1n1gdAJiC4&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/U1n1gdAJiC4&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

Also, there’s a clip of him that was on the Daily Show that was on Youtube, but they took it down 2 weeks ago. It was 2 days after the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin, died in 2006. I have never seen anyone make Jon Stewart laugh as hard as he did.

Also, does anybody have his stand-up CD?
I want to know if it’s any good.

Saw him do stand up at the San Jose Improv. He looked real old from 5 feet away but was funny as all hell.

Dirty Work is one of the funniest movies ever. Him and Artie Lang = awesomeness.

best line from that movie comes courtesy of Adam Sandler's cameo:

"WE EAT THE PIG AND THEN WE BURN... BURN... BURN!!"

Dirty Work is absolutely hilarious.

"Note to self : Forget about ever fathering Children."

Norm is just a naturally funny guy, he has great presence.

I think this guy is some sort of insane genius. It's hard to explain the appeal of him.

It's also so bizarre that you brought him up, because I heard him on the radio this morning and started looking at the same youtube videos, only to come here and see you made a thread. Let's get married.

It's ironic that D-bolt updated this tonight.

I bought Dirty Work and Norm MacDonald's CD Ridiculous earlier today.
I've only had a chance to listen to the first track/skit "the Fantastic Four" which is really great.

^that interview was really great.
The Bill Cosby story was awesome.
Good find.

I just love Norm's personality.
I don't know how to describe it.
He just seems so unaffected, in a way, by everything.
"NORM! WHY AREN'T YOU MAD?!?"
Just an awesome dude.

^Word.

Plus, Chris Farley is in it.
And he gets his nose bit off by a Saigon whore.

It's great.

What really pisses me off is the surprising amount of people at my school who have no idea who Chris Farley is and have never seen Tommy Boy.
I mean, what the fuck!?!
How can you not know who he is or not have seen Tommy Boy?
I thought everybody my age grew up on him.
But I guess it was just Adam Sandler for most people.

I don't know, man.
I have Dirty Work and Tommy Boy on my shelf.
I always tell people to see those.
It doesn't shock me that people haven't seen Dirty Work, but it's the fact that a lot of people haven't seen Tommy Boy or a Chris Farley movie, for that matter.

I mean, Norm Macdonald is totally underappreciated.
But all those SNL guys were big in the 90's.
So it baffles me that people have seen all these Adam Sandler movies and haven't seen Chris Farley.
How the fuck do you go through life and not do that. It seems to me like you have to make a pretty conscious effort not to.
Everybody I know is pretty much raised on him.

Tommy Boy is fucking essential. It's fucking perfect.
I've recommended that movie to like 5 people who come and borrow movies from me all the time since I have a shit load. A startling amount just haven't seen Tommy Boy or don't know who he is to begin with.

Adam Carolla will have Norm MacDonald on his podcast on Monday.
You can download it anytime, so I'll update it once it becomes available.

Today, he had a podcast with Bill Simmons (Carolla pitched a bunch of hilarious fake movie premises)...
In the last 2 and a half minutes, Carolla tells a clutch story about Norm that will be talked about in Monday's podcast.

Essentially, Norm fucked his best friend's wife while his best friend was mowing the lawn.
Not only that, but he fucked her in the ass.

I CANNOT WAIT!

I've been listening to that podcast. I understand not liking Adam on television, but he's a genius on the radio. Norm actually told that story on the old show, and seemed a little embarrassed afterwards, as everybody was freaking out. He's a weird bastard. He's skipped out on his appearances several times, so I have my fingers crossed that this thing goes down.

Cassidy

Well, yeah...because Carolla's show aired at 7 AM, but now since it's a podcast, Carolla doesn't have to wake up early just to host.

I LOVE hearing Carolla air all his grievances with his old radio show.

Carolla is just so genuinely funny.
Like, I'd put him in the same category as Norm as someone who just is funny with whatever they say, it seems.
I cannot wait to hear him go over the story because he said "the first 45 minutes will be dedicated to that!"

I imagine when Bill Simmons (hopefully) leaves ESPN in a couple years, something big will happen where he'll do his own thing and team up with Carolla or something.
The only reason why he can go on Carolla's podcast is because it isn't a "rival" because Carolla is making no money whatsoever on it.

Carolla has a pilot that he's working on for CBS with Kevin Hench (who writes sport columns for MSN and actually wrote and I believe directed THE HAMMER, which was a solid comedy starring Carolla...it's a real solid movie to rent, but not see in theatres, I'd say)

It's insane...Carolla has had over a million hits on his podcast in its first week alone and he's making no money whatsoever off of it.
It's barely been promoted and it's done such a great job.
