Considering this is the sequel to one of the most popular games ever, I don't think they'd make the system requirements too ridiculous. And even if it did have ridiculous requirements it would be well worth the money to upgrade your shit cause this game is going to be fucking awesome.

i'm so out of the video game loop. is this supposed to be as anticipated as that one game where you start as an amoeba and slowly evolve into some kind of civilization?

My guess is sometime in 2009.
Blizzard is getting ready to release the new WoW expansion this year and they're giving that a lot of attention so it doesn't suck when millions of players buy it.
I"m sure they aren't hesitating with the work behind Starcraft 2 either.
I'd imagine they want to make sure this game is badass too.
Considering they're way overdue for the release of this and tons of starcraft fans want this game badly.

Blizzard has been known to keep low system requirements. Everything Blizzard has produced is a masterpiece.
