Is my favorite. New games are aaaaaaight, but the classics are where it's at. They live on forever.

After watching the King of Kong I have a new found respect for classic gaming achievements. Unless you're Billy Mitchell, then you're just a douche.

NOTHING in this world can approach the awesomness of Super Mario World.

NOTHING in this world can approach the awesomness of Super Mario World.

Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and Super Mario Bros 3 are both better in my opinion, but they're all ohhhhhhhhhhh sooooooo good.

I think I like Super Mario World better than Yoshi's Island, and SMB3...but I have the biggest soft spot in the world for the RPG's. I was sick and played Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door nonstop for a week.

There will always be a special place in my heart for pre-PS2 videogames.

Classic PC gaming is where it's at.
LucasArts SCUMM games, X-wing, Wing Commander, Myst, old school C&C. Jesus those were the days.

I don't miss classic console games at all. Alot of them are plain shit aside from the select few timeless ones (Mario etc).

Shit might not be the right word, but alot of people have serious rose tinted glasses when older console gaming (SNES and below) comes up.

Specifically Rpgs.

The fact that the games weren't that great i think contributed to our fondness of them. they were simple, they were idiosyncratic....sometimes they were just plain dumb. it was endearing. so, rose tinted glasses, perhaps. but life would kind of suck if you didn't derive joy from stupid stuff.

mario 3 ftw

I finally beat Dragon Warrior!

Agh, I'm relieved. The excessive leveling up got to me and I took a 1 month hiatus. But, I just manned up and got the last 2 levels I needed and defeated the Dragon Lord! Hell yeah!

That game is so great but so difficult. I've thrown many a controller playing that.

I do too, my friend. That's why I started buying them all again a few months ago. Got a nice collection starting up.

I'm currently playing through Breath of Fire II. I've never played any of these games before, but this one is excellent so far.

Old RPGs were so much better than they are now. That's not to say that some of them aren't lots of fun today, but there's just something about those cartoony graphics that grabs me.

Contra is definently one of the best I agree, I have recently fallen into the whole burning every dreamcast game I can find thing, and all I gotta say is it was a pretty badass system

The Bear

I've never been big on the PC Gaming. I got really into Half-Life and Counter-Strike towards the latter stages of high school, but that's about it for me.

Although, WAY Back when I was really into computer gaming. Games like Rings of Zilfin, Blake Stone, Wolfenstein, Kings Quest, Etc.

blake stone was sweet. When it came to those games all I had was the shareware version, so I never got to finish wolfensteing, B S, or Doom back in the day.

I'm going to build a small, cheap computer made strictly for playing emulators on my TV. I'm going to try to put it in an old NES like this one.

Ha, I remember blakestone, I had the shareware (theres a word I havent heard in a while) version of it back in the day. Everytime you shot a dude they would yell "medic", and you used to cruise around the levels up against the walls holding in the open door button trying to find secret rooms.

I got a wired 360 controller for my computer and have been downloading roms like mad.

Currently hitting up some of my old school ps1 favorites, but spent a lot of time on SNES playing tetris attack yesterday.

Hamburglar and myself spent 2 days playing and beating the shit out of that game. We actually cherried an entire bowl because we only had 2 matches, got high as fuck, then I beat the last level ON MY LAST LIFE.

It was fucking epic. Super Mario 2 is next!

Nothing beats how engrossed i was in the very first dragon quest(warrior) game for the NES. i'd never seen anything like it, since nothing like it existed, and it was fucking awesome. Thank fuck for enix for inventing the console RPG

I'm almost positive all netplay from emulators is through PC to PC.

I have online Nintendo leagues and we all use PCs, so I don't know about MAC.

If it does work, I have a tutorial if you need one for general online ZSNES/Kailerra play.

Without a doubt. That god damn swamp castle gets me everytime... I waste a life just trying to get there, then another life navigating through everything AGAIN, then I have 1 (maybe 2?) lives left to beat the last boss.

Zelda 2 is definitely my next project...

Link's Adventure is a lot like Simon's Quest in that some of the items are so ridiculously hard to find without someone telling you what to do. They both suffer from poor translations of the dialogue.

Just downloaded EVERY SINGLE GAME made for Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Nintendo 64, and even Gameboy... guess I wont be bored for a while haha.

I will downloaded the Playstation 1, and Gameboy Advance collections if they become free leech or if I get some upload credit going.

edit:
Oh fuck, just found a free leech PS1 collection, every fucking game ever. 210 gigs, think I might get it.

true. I guess with drive space not really being an issue these days you can download as much crap as you want.

just think how much cooler it would have made you 15 years ago though.
